# Creating Your First Playlist

> Learn how to create a playlist, add different types of content to it, and configure playback settings for your digital signage.

## Steps

### Step 1: Open Playlists

Open "Playlists" in the sidebar.

> **Note:** A playlist is an ordered list of things to show on a screen. Images, videos and apps play one after another, each for the time you choose, and when the last item ends the playlist starts again from the top.

### Step 2: Create a playlist

Choose "Add Playlist", and give it a name.

### Step 3: Add your media

In the content panel on the right, click the plus button next to a file to add it. You can also drag a file into the list and drop it exactly where you want it.

### Step 4: Add an app

Open the "Apps" tab of the panel, and add an app the same way. Here, a clock joins the playlist.

### Step 5: Set order and duration

Drag the rows to change their order, then type how long each item should stay on screen.

### Step 6: Save and cast

Choose "Save Playlist", then "Cast". Pick your screen, and choose "Cast to Screen".

> **Tip:** Every screen you send a playlist to plays the same loop. Change the playlist, and those screens follow.
