## Steps

### Step 1: Create a YouTube Video app

Open "Apps", then "App Store", pick "YouTube Video" and choose "Create App".

> **Note:** YouTube Video and Embed Webpage are apps from the App Store, both included in the free Basic plan. There is nothing to upload: they play straight from the internet, so the screen needs a connection while they are on.

### Step 2: Name it and paste the video ID

Give it a name, and paste the video ID: the short code at the end of the video's link (for example "VUBkxkszAcY" from youtube.com/watch?v=VUBkxkszAcY). The live preview starts playing.

> **Note:** Use the ID, not the full URL. Only public and unlisted videos work — private videos will not play.

### Step 3: Set Muted and Is Playlist

Keep "Muted" on, so the video can start by itself; with sound on, browsers will not autoplay it. To play a whole YouTube playlist, paste the playlist ID instead and turn on "Is Playlist". Then choose "Create App".

### Step 4: The duration is set for you

Add the app to a playlist from the "Apps" tab. Its duration is already set to the length of the video, so it plays to the end.

### Step 5: Create an Embed Webpage app

Back in the App Store, open "Embed Webpage" the same way, and choose "Create App".

### Step 6: Paste the address and check the preview

Give it a name, and paste the page's full address. It has to start with https://. Then look at the live preview: some sites do not allow embedding, so make sure your page shows up here.

> **Tip:** Dashboards and single-page views work best. For Google Slides or other presentation tools, use the "Publish to web" URL.

### Step 7: Keep changing pages fresh

For pages that change, like dashboards, set "Auto refresh" to reload the page on an interval. Then choose "Create App", and add the app to a playlist like any other.

> **Note:** A playlist with a single item never reloads on its own, so Auto refresh is what keeps a lone dashboard current.
