Which AI assistants can control SignageSpace?
Any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol over streamable HTTP. That includes Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf. SignageSpace implements the standard OAuth 2.1 flow those clients expect, so no API keys are copied by hand.
Does the AI integration cost extra?
No. The MCP server is included with every SignageSpace account, free plan included. Your plan limits still apply — a Basic account can drive its one screen through an assistant exactly as it can through the dashboard.
What can an AI assistant actually change on my screens?
It can read your screens, playlists, channels, and media library, and — when you grant write access — upload images, create or update playlists, cast content to a screen, and reload a screen. It cannot touch billing, delete your account, or reach another customer’s data.
Is it safe to connect an AI assistant to my digital signage?
Connections use OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, so the assistant never sees your password. You approve read and write scopes separately on a consent screen, every tool call is scoped to your own account, and requests are rate limited so a runaway agent cannot flood your screens. Revoke access any time from your SignageSpace account.
Can an AI assistant set up a screen from scratch?
Yes, once the player app is installed on the TV. The app shows a pairing code; read it out to the assistant and it can claim the screen, name it, upload media, build a playlist, and put it on air without you opening the dashboard. Installing the player on the device is the one step that stays manual.
