A paper menu behind the counter becomes outdated when prices, specials or product availability change. An [LG Smart TV](https://www.lg.com/us/tvs) can give a [café](https://signagespace.com/blog/cafe-signage/), [bakery](https://signagespace.com/blog/bakery-digital-signage/) or [quick-service restaurant](https://signagespace.com/blog/digital-signage-qsr/) a more flexible [menu](https://signagespace.com/blog/why-restaurants-are-switching-to-digital-menu-boards/) display. On compatible LG webOS models, Signage Space installs directly from the LG Content Store ([Signage Space LG TV App](https://us.lgappstv.com/main/tvapp/detail?appId=1301994)), so an additional HDMI media player is not required.

## Plan the display before designing

Stand where customers will order and decide whether they can clearly see the screen. Check glare, viewing angle, mounting height and power access. An indoor consumer TV may be suitable for a small installation, but extended operating hours, bright windows or portrait mounting may call for a professional signage display. Always check the model’s supported mounting orientation and warranty.

## Create a menu that works from across the room

Use large type, strong contrast and a few clear sections. Group products into categories such as coffee, pastries and sandwiches. Keep prices aligned and avoid long descriptions. Do not squeeze an entire printed menu onto one TV slide. If you offer many items, build several slides with consistent typography and enough display time for people to read them.

## Prepare your menu files

Start with an image representing your current menu or a small rotation for categories and special offers. Export at a suitable landscape resolution, preview the design and compress files before uploading. SignageSpace Basic supports uploads up to 10 MB each, with 200 MB of total storage, so concise images are a good free-plan starting point.

## Connect your LG TV to Signage Space

Press Home on the remote, open the LG Content Store, search for Signage Space and install it. Launch the player to see a six-letter code. On your computer or phone, create a SignageSpace account, open Screens, choose Add Screen and enter the code. Assign a descriptive screen name such as “Front Counter Menu.”

## Publish and update the menu

Upload your graphics, arrange them in a playlist and assign it to the LG TV. Review the content on the actual screen to make sure nothing is too small or cut off. When prices change, update your media or playlist from the dashboard, rather than carrying a USB stick to the screen.

## A free menu versus an automated menu

A basic menu playlist can be displayed on one free Basic screen. If your restaurant needs automatic breakfast-to-lunch transitions, time-based scheduling requires Premium. Advanced layouts and more screens are also Premium features. Do not promise automatic daypart changes to restaurants using the free plan.

## Three menu board examples

**Café:** a core coffee menu plus a rotating seasonal drink.

**Bakery:** prices, popular pastry categories and a special of the day.

**Quick-service counter:** meal combinations with a clearly visible upsell item.

For each business, good menu readability matters more than animation.

## Avoid these common mistakes

Do not use tiny text, rapidly switching slides or colors with poor contrast. Check the TV's power, sleep and screen saver settings during operating hours. Do not assume the TV can run continuously or be mounted vertically without checking its specifications. Assign responsibility for updating prices to one employee.
