Run SignageSpace on an Amazon Fire TV StickOur Amazon Appstore listing is on the way. Until it lands, the Android build sideloads onto a Fire TV Stick in a few minutes and runs exactly as it does on any other TV device.

Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore — Fire TV has no file manager and no browser of its own, so the APK needs something to fetch it. Search the Appstore on the device for Downloader — the free one by AFTVnews — and install it. This is the only extra app the setup needs.

Let Downloader install apps — Open Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps, and turn the switch on for Downloader. On some devices Developer options only appears after you open Settings → My Fire TV → About and press the device name seven times.

Open Downloader and enter app.signagespace.com/android/download/apk — Type the address into Downloader’s URL box and press Go. It fetches the same APK we publish for Android devices without the Play Store, then offers to install it — choose Install, and Delete afterwards to free the space.

Open the app — SignageSpace lands at the end of the Your Apps & Channels row on the home screen; move it to the front so anyone can reopen it. It does not ask you to log in — the stick never holds your account, which is why you can hand one to a shop or a branch without handing over your password.

Read the six-letter code — The player shows a six-letter code. From here nothing about this device is different from any other screen.
