# Adding YouTube Videos to Your Signage

## Steps

### Step 1: Find the YouTube app

In the App Store tab, locate the "YouTube Video" app. It allows you to display any public YouTube video on your signage screens.

### Step 2: Create a YouTube app instance

Click "Create" on the YouTube Video app. You'll be asked to enter a YouTube video or playlist ID. Enter the video ID from the URL (e.g., "VUBkxkszAcY" from youtube.com/watch?v=VUBkxkszAcY), or a playlist ID for playlists.

> **Note:** The YouTube app supports regular videos and playlists. Use the video ID (the part after "v=" in the URL), not the full URL. Only public and unlisted videos are supported — private videos won't work.

### Step 3: Configure playback settings

Choose whether the video should be muted. Muted videos autoplay automatically in most browsers, which is ideal for signage. You can also enable the playlist option if you entered a YouTube playlist ID instead of a single video ID.

> **Tip:** Keep the muted option enabled for signage displays — this ensures the video autoplays without requiring user interaction.

### Step 4: Add to a playlist

Add your configured YouTube app to a playlist. Set the display duration — when the duration expires, the playlist advances to the next item. For full-length videos, set the duration to match the video length.

### Step 5: Test on your screen

Assign the playlist to a screen and verify the video plays correctly. Check audio settings on the physical display if sound is needed.

> **Warning:** YouTube videos require an active internet connection on the player device. If connectivity is unreliable, consider uploading the video as a media file instead.
