# Creating Your First Playlist

## Steps

### Step 1: Navigate to Playlists

From the SignageSpace dashboard, click on "Playlists" in the sidebar navigation. This is where you'll manage all your playlists.

### Step 2: Create a new playlist

Click the "Add Playlist" button. Give your playlist a name that describes its purpose, such as "Lobby Welcome" or "Daily Promotions".

> **Tip:** Use descriptive names that include the location or purpose — it makes managing multiple playlists much easier.

### Step 3: Upload and add media content

Use the content browser below the playlist to add items. You can drag and drop media from your library, or browse through your uploaded images, videos, and apps to add them to the playlist. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, MP4, and WebM.

### Step 4: Add apps to your playlist

Beyond media files, you can add apps like Clock, Weather, YouTube videos, or web page embeds. Browse the App Store to find apps that suit your needs, then add them directly to your playlist.

> **Note:** Apps update dynamically — a Clock app always shows the current time, and a Weather app always displays current conditions.

### Step 5: Configure duration and order

Set how long each item should display before advancing to the next. Drag items to reorder them to create the perfect playback sequence.

### Step 6: Assign the playlist to a screen

Once your playlist is ready, go to your screen settings and assign this playlist. The content will start playing immediately on the connected display.
